Step into the Biscuit Lounge, a living exhibition that invites you to become part of the creative process. Featuring a collection of bisque-fired ceramic works, this space transforms over the course of the week through community participation.
Open to everyone—whether you’re a master potter or a five-year-old who’s never touched clay—visitors are encouraged to contribute by painting the unfired surfaces with underglazes and oxides. Each mark adds colour and individuality, gradually bringing the works to life.
As the week unfolds, the exhibition will evolve into a vibrant body of work shaped by many hands. Following Nelson Clay Week, the completed pieces will be glaze-fired and exhibited, celebrating the community’s role in transforming raw forms into finished works.
Supported by Creative Communities Scheme Nelson City.
