Make/Shift Spaces Incorporated (MSS) respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

- membership information;
- information you provide through enquiries, applications, event registrations, volunteering, donations or other interactions with MSS;
- correspondence with us;
- information about how our website is used, including through cookies and website analytics.
If you choose not to provide information we reasonably require, we may be unable to process an application, administer your membership, respond to your enquiry or provide the relevant service.
How we use your information
We may use personal information to:
- administer membership and maintain our Register of Members;
- communicate with members about MSS meetings, activities and governance;
- respond to enquiries and manage projects, events and relationships;
- administer volunteer, artist, community, property-owner or donor relationships;
- meet our legal and reporting obligations;
- improve our website and understand how it is being used.
If you have chosen to receive MSS news or fundraising updates, we may also contact you for those purposes.

Information received from other people
Occasionally we may receive personal information about you from another person or organisation, for example through a referral or introduction. Where required by the Privacy Act, we will take reasonable steps to let you know that we have collected the information, why we have it and how it will be used.

We take reasonable steps to keep personal information secure and protect it from loss, misuse or unauthorised access.
MSS uses third-party technology providers, including Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, to store and manage information. Information may therefore be stored or processed outside New Zealand. We may also use other service providers where reasonably necessary to carry out MSS activities.
We do not sell personal information.
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, or where we are required to retain it by law or under the MSS Constitution.
Website analytics and cookies
Our website may use Google Analytics and similar technologies to help us understand how visitors use the site. These services may collect information such as your IP address, device or browser information, pages visited and how you interact with the website.
