ArtDoors Whakatū Nelson
A project by Make/Shift Spaces & Arts Council Nelson
ArtDoors Whakatū Nelson is an aspirational project that aims to transform 100 of the city’s doors over a two-year period.
The project will connect business and property owners with local makers and creators whose artwork will be used to transform tired and plain-looking doors and windows, adding a splash of colour and optimism to our city streets.
Building on the already highly successful Nelson City Centre ArtWalk, ArtDoors will encourage foot traffic by locals and visitors around the city. Initially, the focus will be to record all the ArtDoors on this website, with information and a map.
The project will showcase the talented artists that reside in our city and region, as well as encouraging business property and owners to show proactive support for livening up our city.

We've got loads of ideas for what your door could look like. Keep scrolling for some concept designs below. We've photographed some doors and mocked up some possible examples. It could be a pattern, an abstract, embroidery, a landscape, portraits, a painting or photography.
