Flamboyant Flowers
acrylic paint, 2025
“This floral design captures Nelson’s vibrant and artistic spirit, reflecting the joyful atmosphere of our community.” Amy Adams
Amy Adams is an artist whose creative journey began in childhood, evolving from crafting miniature doll worlds to creating large-scale paintings and mixed media pieces. This lifelong passion has shaped her artistic vision and practice.
Amy is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Art & Design at NMIT, with her focus being on community art projects that celebrate Nelson’s rich cultural tapestry. Through these initiatives, she aims to inspire joy, foster community engagement, and enhance the city’s overall well-being.
Amy also has professional experience in the field, having worked was a designer for Speedy Signs Nelson
Amy’s interests lie in tactical urbanism, placemaking, and public art intervention. These approaches allow her to reimagine and revitalise urban spaces, creating meaningful connections between art, community, and environment.
Another recent example of her work includes a mural for the Arts Council Nelson’s Chorus Cabinet initiative. Amy’s artwork, Rose-tinted Choices, is at 102 Milton Street. There’s more info about Amy’s Chorus Box here. And for a fun little challenge, you can do an online puzzle of Rose-tinted Choices here – warning – it’s addictive!
