Being a part of this project was great. I had a lot of fun drawing and painting it. It was a bit challenging because of the bumps on the power box but I made it work. Patience is the key!
Originally from Colombia, David George Garcia came to New Zealand abut ten years ago for a better opportunity.
David first became involved with Make/Shift Spaces with the Nile St ArtWall, helping to paint the many wooden shapes.
For me art is a way to escape reality have fun and just relax.
The painting I made represents the music and instruments of my culture and how it makes people feel.
I made it colourful so it represents how music is full of energy and so enjoyable.
Huge thanks to NEL (Nelson Electricity Limited) for supporting our artists to transform their boxes!
