I find inspiration in the simplicity of everyday life. By being present in the world around me, stories naturally unfold, leading me to new ways of seeing and understanding. Ordinary moments, like walks through the city or commuting through heavy traffic, offer rich material for my work. These experiences allow me to reflect on how people share common spaces yet see the world from different perspectives.
Hello City was the first bit of New Zealand I saw with my own eyes. I arrived in the cover of darkness, super jet lagged, ‘South Africa is very far away.’ When I woke up the next morning this was the first thing I saw looking out the window. It was a very curious experience and I had no idea what I was looking at. But it was something to explore as it was about to become my new home.
