Make/Shift Spaces is working with Papercut to showcase a series of work by NMIT Arts and Media students.

First up is Urban Ecologies by Kirsten Cooper.

Representations of landscape form part of an ongoing narrative about our place in the world and the inter-connectedness of living things. They invite us to truly consider the impacts we have on where we live.  While many would like to think this is a given, it is often not the case. For example, despite the universally acknowledged benefits of significant plantings within urban areas, it continues to be a precarious endeavour, with competition for space and resources increasing pressure on our urban and rural ecosystems.
